Research Experience and Training Coordination Core
Overarching goal: To train the next generation of scientists and thought leaders in team science, leadership, and communications skills to tackle broad environmental health problems and policies affecting communities.
Approach: RETCC will (1) provide high quality, state-of-the-art research training, didactic training, and professional development to diverse undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees participating in the CEPaCT, (2) facilitate trainee interactions with all aspects and cores in the CEPaCT, and (3) provide training on best practices along with networking and mentoring opportunities for trainees.
RETCC works with the Community Engagement Core to develop the Illinois PFAS Research to Action (I-PRA) fellow program for community-led research and science communication and community engagement training. We interface with Data Management and Analysis Core and Analytical Services Core on workshops, data science, and experimental design; and with Administrative Core on entrepreneurship and translational skills.
